Yes, it's a large jump in price, though I wouldn't say it's equally a bump in performance :

You are getting 270x's priced as high as £186 with quite a few at £170. The gap between them and a 280x just isn't enough (although prices are daft thanks to stock/mining)

So something like the 7870 LE's with the Tahiti chip instead of the Pitcairn chip?
Seen them around the £150 mark from retailers and they are in stock. Something to think about if a 270(x) is something you are considering.

I never had to hesitate when recommending an AMD card, as the 7950 was always a stonking card and for the most, very, very cheap. I am looking at AMD and nVidia cards now and struggling to see a good price if I am honest. Have we become accustomed to high prices? Or is it still this mining thingy? Time will tell
