Hey,

Just got the last few pieces for my first watercooling loop with the last thing left to go is distilled water.

Does anyone know the best place to find it? I can find De-ionized water quite easily but not distilled.

Thanks in Advance

(have already got PT Nuke to go in when its ready)

Thats De-ionised. Used as battery top-up water.

Distilled is more specialised. Chemists (Real ones, not boots) can order it in.

£3.50/litre for distilled, vs 99p/litre for deionised at Homebase :)

Effectively you get the same effect with either, put a silver coil and a couple of drops of PTNuke in there and your done.

I used to use deionised, then got scared for a few builds about reionization so spent triple on distilled for a while which made me feel all warm and happy but probably doesn't make a blind bit of difference :)

If you have to have distilled Feser Aqua is about as cheap as anything else.

I got distilled from my local chemist, was £4.95 for 5 litres and dropped a silver coil in my res. I had looked all over for distilled water and in the end it was practically on my doorstep all along. I have also read about deionized water reionizing and stripping copper from blocks and rads although the rate this happens is slow from what i can gather.

I've had de-ionized from Halfords with PTNuke running in my loop for ~2years (without changing the water) and to date I have noticed no ill effects to date.

I'd just go for de-ionized.

You could build a still, if you remember gcse / o-level chemistry. Or you could try and blag some for cheap from a school, as AFAIK they make it themselves.

Cheers guys,

Went to my local chemist this morning, None in stock of distilled but can order it in by 3pm today at £4.00 for 5 litres.

Would never of thought of the chemist down the road

Thanks
