Hi,

I've been waiting for the Blink doorbell since I first got my Blink cameras a couple of years ago and I'm getting a bit bored of waiting now its starting to look like its not going to happen.

I can either just add a Blink camera to the front door and use that with a traditional doorbell or I can sell my Blink equipment and go for something else that can utilise cameras and a doorbell as part of one package. I definitely don't want to mix and match solutions I want one solution to cater for cameras and doorbell.

One major thing is I have had my Blink kit for so long that I'm exempt from paying a subscription and get free storage, saying that I'm not completely adverse to paying a subscription as long as its a couple of quid a month and not silly money and gives additional features.

Has anyone else gone through a similar process and come to a good solution that works for you? Are you using a mix of solutions or do you have one solution that does everything? Please tell me about it.

I am definitely not interested in proper CCTV and DVRs I want a wireless solution along the lines of Blink/Ring/Arlo maybe there is something I've missed?

Thanks

Personally i'd want a combined product rather than combining a camera with a doorbell. Not for audio, but for automation around our google home automatically showing the doorbell camera when the doorbell is rang, or a notification on your phone which pulls up the camera rather than hearing the doorbell and then looking for the app to open the door camera.

Product roadmaps are annoying, i've been waiting for the Nest door lock for years but looks like it's been shelved, it came out in the US but never made its way over here.

We use Blink cameras and cover the front door with them, are you after a designated doorbell to have conversations over the cam with callers?

Not for conversation no, more to monitor the front door which I can do with a camera but really wanted the camera and doorbell in one device mostly because the camera is going to be difficult to position and will be easy to reach. I could put the camera in the porch but then it wont work properly at night through the glass and it gets very hot in there in the summer

Another issue with Blink is I would want the front door camera to be on all the time and the other cameras to be on at night but they dont offer this feature the Schedule affects all devices which means they will all have to be on all the time which is annoying which is why I might consider a different solution

Yes exactly, I want to buy an Echo Show for my desk and set a routine so that if the front door detects motion is fires up in the day time for deliveries etc
