Where should I connect my fans?

I have 6 case fans my motherboard has:

CPU_FAN - Pulse regulated (PWM)
CPU_OPT - Voltage
SYS_FAN1-4 - Voltage
SYS_FAN5-6 - 3-Pin

By voltage I mean the motherboard varies the voltage going to the fan to change the speed, rather than using pulses. 3-Pins just run at full speed.

My pump needs to go into CPU_FAN because the speed can't be changed on any other header. That leaves me with 5 speed controlled headers, one of which is too far away for the fan cable to reach, which leaves me with two un-used fans.

I'm wondering how people handle this? Especially people with more fans than I do. Ideally I'd like to connect them all to the CPU_OPT header and vary the speed of all of them at once. However, splitters don't work because they only split PWM headers.

Cheers.

EDIT: For example, how has he done it here?

The easiest way would be to run the fans off a Fan controller, and if needed, use cable extensions to get the reach it.

3-pin fans can't really be controlled off the motherboard in any way, and from PSU they run at 100%.

I think the guy in your link runs the corsair SP120 silent versions, which run at a capped RPM even at full speed.

Are there any fan controllers which take the speed from the motherboard rather than having bay controls? I basically just want to 6 fans from 1 fan header.
