Where the windows 8.1 store update 3.4gb file downloaded to

Does anyone know where the 3.4GB W8.1 update file is downloaded to when you update from the store ??


As am hoping it going be possible to save this file as I have multi PC's I need to update to w8.1 from w8....(Has anyone tried this way)

if you are lucky it is one giant blob 3.4G file , if not a load of smaller files

Select C drive , search for * , filter results by last date and see what floats to the top

There's a $WINDOWS.~BT hidden folder that gets created in the root of C:\ that appears to be the download.

I did try copying it to another machine to see if it would use that, but it looks like it just deleted the contents and started downloading again

14GB later, all my machines are updated ....

I have now got a Windows.old Directory which is 7.27GB and a current Windows directory of 12.8GB. I do have the $WINDOWS.~BT directory which is just MB's in size.
My guess is the Windows.old is for rollback purposes.
