Where to buy 5D batteries and charger?

Long story short I've lost 1 of my 2 5D (mark i) batteries so I spend half of every shooting sessions worrying about running out of battery - I've decided to pick up a few extra batteries, a battery grip (will source second hand) and another charger, so I can always have at least 2 charged for a day.

Does anyone have any recommendations as to where I should find the batteries and the charger, because of course Canon have discontinued these items (unless the Canon battery charger is standardised? I vaguely remember having seen a double battery charger for Canon batteries but I don't know if that would work with mine, or if it's stupidly expensive.

Thanks in advance,

Matt

I picked up a couple of branded ones (either Duracell or Energizer, I can't remember) off the rainforest online shop. They were really cheap too. They aren't to hand now but if I remember tomorrow I'll post the specifics.

Yeah I think I've settled on getting Duracell batteries, I'm unsure on the charger though.

Has anyone got any experience with ExPro products? They're the only ones who sell a dual charger for BP511s which would be ideal.

Well the batteries are Duracell DRC511 and they are £15 each. Not sure about the charger as I have the original Canon one.

Yeah I have an original Canon one as well, but would be good to have another so I don't have to swap batteries over every few hours.

I think the charger is a CB-5L if that helps your searches. I got a battery grip off the bay which came with two batteries so I've ended up with four. I have thought about buying an additional charger myself because if the original ever got lost or broken I'd be up the creek.

Yeah not looking for another Canon CB-5L one, looking for a dual one to save on having to swap the charging battery over at the middle of the night if I want two batteries ready for the next day, and to save on needing so many power sockets for it.

I have ordered the ExPro dual one now, will update this thread when I have everything.

Ordered a BG-E4 battery grip off of MPB as they're cheap enough nowadays for the MPB premium to be worth it tbh.
