Where to buy a new battery?

My Galaxy S6 battery has reached the end of it usable life. It only charges to 67%, and that 67% doesn't last me long enough.

I still find the phone "fine" so I have no intention of taking out a new contract for a new phone really. I had a look at whats involved in replacing it, and it seems pretty doable. If I do manage to kill it changing the battery, then I'm not that bothered tbh.

I've had a look on ebay. Lots of "genuine" batteries for ~£6, many apparently manufactured in 2018. I'm sure they are all fake. Even if I did find an actual genuine battery, then chances are its been sat on a shelf for like 4+ years right? and probably well past its best? Whats my best option? Pick a random ebay "genuine" battery with decent reviews and hope it doesn't set my crotch on fire?

Can you get batteries that are non genuine but well regarded? I think that might be my preferred option is that's a thing. If so, where?

Decided to get a replace base one (from their ebay store as it was cheaper with p&p). Probably going to be the same as the £6 ebay ones in a different wrapper, but at least its not pretending to be something its not I guess.

Buying a replacement battery seems to be a bit of a crapshoot really. Surprised a reputable battery manufacturer has not started making their own brand replacement batteries. I guess they would probably be sued or some crap.

It should be like car parts. You can get genuine, or you can get parts from bosch, mann, luk etc that you know are going to be 90% - 110% as good as genuine anway.

If you’re interested in comparing - ping me a message in trust and I’ll get a genuine one sent to you.

I’m mostly curious how much the difference is in capacity to the £6 ones from eBay etc.
