Hi,i am wanting to buy a very simple pc for just basic word and email checking.I think embedded is what im looking for,i want a fanless, small, very cheap low energy pc.Perhaps with flash memory also just enough to install windows xp+updates.

Anyone know where i can get one new?

One of the cheap dual core Atom based PCs should do the job. I would look at one of the Acer Aspire Revo or Asus Eee Box PCs. Make sure you get one which has an Nvidia IGP.

I dont want to spend more than 100 to be honest,i find pre configured nettops to be ridiculously over priced.Like i said i want a embedded or something where the total price is not over 100,i want to pay more like 60-80 in total if possible. It's really only for checking email, search the news, and a few word documents.Dont feel like i want to spend over what i said just for this.

I'm pretty sure you're not getting a new computer for less than 100, however slow it might be. You may well be able to buy a few thousand at a unit cost of under 100, but I don't think that's really what you're after.

The monitor, keyboard and mouse alone are going to be the best part of 50 quid. Wonder how much eee 701s are going for these days, that might be an option. Nope, still over 100.

Second hand is your only option here.

For that matter, I don't think you can get a windows (and an office) license for much under 100 by themselves. So make that second hand and ubuntu, with openoffice writer.
