Where to buy?

So I am looking to buy a Macbook. The cheapest I can find is via Refurb or Tax Free [I am travelling abroad next week].

I do have access to an employee purchase programme but the discounts are only around 10%.

So in the long run, should I go for Tax Free, Refurb or something else?

I do have concerns about the customer service from Tax Free but i guess can just take it straight to Apple retail if i have any problems?

Thanks....

All machines are covered by Apple using the serial number.

If you have problems you can book an appointment with your local Apple store, and get it sorted under warranty.

My advice is, those high street chains usually carry old stock.. and with the recent MacBook updates you may end up buying old tech for the same money.

Go direct to Apple or just ring them up and blag the HE discount if you're worried about cost.

Worth knowing that a certain high street department store (with a reasonably 'premium' image) offers 2 years warranty as standard whereas buying from apple get you one year as standard. Prices look almost exactly the same as apple store as well.

Thanks, think you might be right about the old stock. Off to Apple I go then. Refurb or EPP, or investigate the HE discount.

Yes, I know that retailer, but they don't have a good service reputation for laptops.... I think I'd prefer AppleCare - but thanks anyway.
