Just something I ran into this morning on the way to work whilst checking tyre pressures, my tyres are 245 / 55 / R17 ZR and the sticker on the driver's side door does not list the pressure for this tyre size so does anyone know where I could check to find out what pressure to use on front/rear for these tyres? I looked on the tyre itself but could not spot pressure guides or anything other than lots of other numbers and markings ?

They are pilot sport tyres btw.

Cheers!

Hmm, should be on the sticker on the driver's side door. Check the owner's manual otherwise.

I think mine are somewhere along the lines of 38psi front, 42psi rear. Yours should be slightly lower.

I checked the sticker on the door :p same pressure guides as on the manual too so neither list my tyre!

I've just checked mine, you want:

2.2bar front
2.5bar rear

:)

Ah cheers but would this be for saloon and coupe ?

For an BMW, 3 SERIES (E46), 318CI SPORT, Coupe, Manual, 2003
Pressure Guide
View tyre information for your vehicle
Bolt Torque 110nm
Rim Size (front) 7 x 16
Rim Size (rear) 7 x 16
Normal Load (front) 1.9bar
Normal Load (rear) 2.2bar

Hmm, does that mean it's for 16"? The "tyre guide" link shows the standard tyres and sizes but none in my size :/

Edit*

Bahhh this is getting tedious lol :p

yea 7 x 16 means 16" wheels so not right for yours. Does the sticker on your car only say for 16s too?

AHHHHH what a plank I am! I've been reading it correctly but totally writing down something else LOL. This time I took the post it notes with me to write down there and it turns out....

Front:
225 / 45 / ZR 17 91Y

Rear:
245 / 40 / ZR 17 91Y

So the rears are wider...

Mystery solved I guess :D cheers all!

I'll probably have to do a triple check in a bit just to make sure the above is correct though I'm pretty sure of it now :p
