Where to Connect Headphones

I have my Z5500 speakers connected to my X-fi through an analogue connection. My question is if I plug my headphones into the control pod of the Z5500, will I still get all the effects of the X-fi? (3D sound etc)?

You might do, as the effects of the X-fi will come through the speakers, so using its headphone socket is like in effect having a third speaker.

On the otherhand it might mottle it.
