Where to find information on average wage?

Median wage would be a more useful piece of info, even by occupation. But the Daily Fascist, sorry, Mail, published something similar within the last couple of weeks I believe, so you might want to try them. But looking over their figures I found a number of them unrealistically high.

According to that website, a Lawyer in Liverpool will earn on average 27,629 but a Gynecologist would earn 102,785 :confused:

There was an excellent article in the daily mail that showed the salary ladder of each profession. I'll have to upload it, maybe will do tomorrow.
 
As a bloke how do you possibly aspire to/enter the field of gynecology without looking like a perv? : )

I think that one does have to be able to paper ones hallway through the letter box to qualify though. :D
 
Someone said that they were available on National Statistics site but all I can find is information that is so oversimplified its useless - for example, the average national wage overall, but not even broken down as far as sector.

I don't know if I just dont know how to use the website

MrDog, there is something you need to know about our society...

Wished to look up professional diver and psychotherapist, not that I am either...

I was reading through some diving forums, on information about being a professional diver. One company was offering £12 p.h., ten hour days in Saudi Arabia. I thought this ridiculous due to the sheer amount of danger such a thing would involve.

I've also read that it would imrpove vastly over time, but I was curious.
 
The Saudi Arabia diving does sound a bit dangerous. Do you have any tax savings while working over there? I.e. do they pay any? Still 12ph in my opinion would be too low. Must be one of those jobs you have to enjoy.

Working as a psychotherapist would be rather interesting though.

£12 ph is ridiculously poor money. It also costs perhaps £10k to get the appropriate qualifications, and the conditions of your work are very poor (long seperation from family etc. etc.)

Yeah, I am planning on going back into education next year to become a psychotherapist.

I would like to have an interesting action job now while I am young enough to do something like that, and then go into psychotherapy but my priority is to find a job that will support my studies. I do adventure sports in my spare time so I am not missing out TOO much if I dont get a job working outdoors.

I actually already know what a psychotherapist earns, both private, working for an organisation and on the NHS and they can be quite well compensated for their time. Which is nice, but I love psychology anyway so want to go into it.

Very much so - I was stifling a yawn and letting it out felt so good :p

Why do you feel the need to criticise the Mail even though you, ironically, probably agree with much of what it says? :)
