I'm at the mother in-laws, and I cannot figure out what her wireless key is.
I want to connect with my laptop (on hers atm) but she cannot remember what it is :(

Is there any way in Windows to find out what the key is?

edit: no it's not on the back of the router

edit: I cannot connect to the router either, using the the typical 192.168.0.1

Appart from using "hacking tools" there is no way to find out. Assuming the router is not preprogramed by your ISP and you have all the ISP connection details to hand such as password, user name etc just reset the router to factory defaults and set it up again with a new WEP key etc.

Make sure you know the router user name and password afterwards :D

What make is it? I think Netgear and Linksys have 192.168.1.1 as the default ip.

don't forget if you look at the ip config on the laptop you're using the Default Gateway is the IP of the router.

You'll only be able to get the key from the router (unless someone created it in a text file and save it on the laptop you're using now)

You could plug the router into the computer using a ethernet cable. You will now be able to log into the router, it should tell you the code on the wireless settings.
