Hi guys,

Can anyone recommend a decent numberplate shop that will do a 3/4 size numberplate without any naff logos etc.?

Just google 'Show Plates', loads of websites do them. Should cost about £10-£15 per plate, although I don't think they will be legal and quite obvious to Mr Plod.

I got mine done at fancy plates, seem ok price wise and were delivered quickly.

The letters look very similar in size to the normal plates they just have less border around them.

I have had mine now since October with no issues and have passed plenty of the ol' bill.

Edit - Illegal blah blah blah.:D

www.fancyplates.com do them.

We've got a small plate on the front of the Westfield* (but in the standard UK font) and have never had an issue with it.

*Before all the OMG CHILD KILLERZ, we had two regular full-size plates, and both got smacked off by speedbumps/raised middle of the road in lanes etc.

I typically got pulled as I was driving to the bodyshop for a quote for my dent.

Lady copper was very nice though and let me off with a slap on the wrist.

I've got legals on due to thinking I needed them for the MOT, I didn't in the end.

Not sure whether to keep it on or not.

On the "for" side:

It is legal - Plod don't exactly need an excuse to pull me over in my car.
It doesn't obstruct the intercooler that much.

On the "against" side

It looks rubbish with a legal plate
It obscures the FMIC and disrupts airflow and the bumper lines
It draws attention to the horrible numberplate I have

I think it depends on how eager the plod are around there. If you are constantly going to get stopped then it is not worth it.

My local MOT tester will fail any car with non standard plates.

Its to do with the speed/ANPR cameras.

If you get uncle Rozzer in a bad mood you get nicked, if you do it again they may take your car away and send it to the crusher.

Is it worth it?
