I have a nice basic question for any electronic types
My cheapo case came with a digital temp reader panel thing with 2 thermistors and 2 LCD displays, one for each thermistor obviously. It also has one power connector for each display, a 2 pin thing which i couldnt find a header for on the board. The device says 5v on the back, so I thought it would be ok hooking it up to the power pins of the USB header on the mobo. I managed to solder the pairs togehter then add a smaller 2 pin plug thingy from an old cases HDD LED connector ao it fits onto the USB header, and it powered up fine and the LCD things are on, but the PC hangs on the boot logo now. Unplugging the thing makes it work again. So basically I just need a place to connect a 5v DC line, other than the USB ports. As far as I know all the lines coming out of the PSU are 12v so Im a bit stumped. Any suggestions?

Both 12v and 5v are the easy ones, its 3.3v thats bit harder, as any molex from PSU has both, the outer wires are 12v and 5v and 2 centre wires are both Grounds.

Cheers guys, Ill try hooking it up to molex tomorrow when ive had some kip. Someone on ocforums also tells me I could nack the USB header from drawing too many amps the way I was doing it. I spose I was pretty lucky not to.
