I'm planning on fitting a bespoke work top in my room. 1.5m x about 60cm, going along 1 wall, with the short side fitted against 2nd wall. Couple quick pics of my current space:

Simple, plain matt black. Ikea has some:

It's going to carry mainly my 24" monitor, my desktop (might stick this on the floor but I want to show it off a bit :P) and the usual desktop stuff ie. speakers, keyboard, mouse, docks and other random crap. Also considering a 37" tv in the near future so it should be fairly sturdy.

Not really a DIY bloke :D So wondering if anyone has any advice/tips? What would be the best way to fit it to the walls? The main back wall (the one with the window) is of brick, and the side wall (left side, where the desk is) a normal plaster partition..

Tanks.

I also need some better lighting in my room too. It's pretty damn gloomy which can't be good for the eyes ;/ Can't tear the walls down for any proper lighting though.

i have 2 of these:

Actually does a really good job considering its price, and is pretty sturdy....i have 4 of the cheapest legs on each and it doesnt flex under my weight if i lean on it and im not exactly small :D

Whole lot cost about 50 quid for 280x60cm of desk :)

Really like your space rG-tom, and those desks look perfect. Shame they only have 120x60 or 150x75. The extra 15cm on the 150 length would restrict space for my chair :\
