Where to get a tiny little spring

Does anyone know of a place that I can get a tiny little tension spring.

I have a portable dvd player for the car and the DVD drive ejects out the side much like a laptop.

there should be a very tiny tension spring between the eject catch and the casing but this spring is missing so even the slightest bump causes the disk to eject.

Not very handy for driving with our 3 year old.

it is 7mm between the two points that the spring connects to so the spring wants to be about 5.5 to 6mm long, 1mm thick and maybe a .25mm wire diameter.

I have checked the obvious auction site to no avail

Any ideas?

Find an old laptop CD/DVD drive and dismantle it?

thought of that but I don't have one and don't really want to start spending money on stuff that might have what I need

that'll be too big. they are generally ~2mm wide and ~20mm tall

Old floppy drive! The eject mechanism uses those springs IIRC.

i'll have a look in a local junk shop and see if i can find something like the floppy or old cd rom
