Hi,

I am looking for somewhere to buy a 2nd hand macbook.... i am looking for something cheap and basic which I can use for word processing, internet, email etc.... The most important thing is that I can carry it around with me.

Apart from eBay, are there any good places to look for 2nd hand macbooks....

Also, is a 2nd hand macbook likely to have a decent battery or do they loose their charge after a while? Is it possible/expensive to replace the batteries?

Thanks

G

Likelyhood is what we say is a competitor. In 90 days and 250 posts, you could try the MM, but read the FAQ to make sure that I'm right about the posts/days.

Most likely to find a Powerbook or iBook for that, rather than the Macbook. Could be wrong though.

how about a new netbook for that sort of money?

Seems totally pointless to buy a 4 year old mac to me

Get a Netbook. If you really need to use OSX then it can be installed on some netbooks if you're that way inclined.

You're looking at 500 quid for a Mactop worth using.

Why has nobody else claimed him? Claimed!
And you'd have to try a competitor most likely. Apple sometimes have refurbished ones but these will probably be out of your budget.

Not likely to find one within your budget, IMHO.

I sold a 2 year old macbook for £400 six months ago (2Gb RAM and 320Gb hard drive).

If you must get a Mac save up and get at least the basic Macbook (£400'ish) or go the Netbook route for the money there really very good. I have a new fully specced Ali MacBook and a Asus One and the Asus gets far more use.
