I have a 2012 Renault grand scenic 1.6 dci.

The pipe from the intercooler to the egr valve has a crack and causing loss of power when the turbo kicks in.

I am fairly sure I can replace this myself but Renault will not supply me with the part without charging the labour.

Anyone have any sources they can advise? I've tried the usual euro car parts etc

You could try contacting an accident repair centre, the ones insurance companies use for example, they can source parts for all cars. Maybe they can help.

WUT? A parts department at a renault garage wont supply the part to you without charging the Labour it would cost for them to change the part? That sounds utterly ridiculous! I don't have any experience with renault, I've only ever had vauxhalls and a honda, and with vauxhall/Honda you can just go down to a dealer, go to the parts desk and buy parts at the part price, no extra labour charge when they're not fitting it.

My experience too, I had an Astra for 8 years and got all of my parts from Evans halshaw without any issues. Renault actually asked me if I was calling from a garage. I may be able to call again and pretend to be from a garage I've done work for with their consent, but it certainly does seem like they don't like selling engine parts at least to joe bloggs.

I purchased fine through Renault Cardiff today, £106 though for a pipe. I wonder why there are hardly any aftermarket parts for renault?

I've come across a couple of car dealerships who no longer sell parts directly to the public. Too many people ordering stuff and not turning up or returning things they can't fit or didn't fix the problem apparently, and people wanting discounts because other dealers are selling online below list price.

Try another dealer.

Try Renault Wolverhampton - 01902216275 gets you through to the right department. I've used them a few times and they've always been helpful and cheap. They're recommended over at cliosport.net.

I had to get two new Eibach front springs the other week for my MOT - they're my cars OEM springs. Renault only had four in stock, all in France. They put it on an urgent back order and I had it in a few days :)
