I am currently redoing the kitchen/ utility of our new house and looking to replace the existing back door. It's approximately 110cm wide and the widest external doors I am finding are 84cm /33inch. We would like to get something of similar size in keeping with the property, its an old farmhouse.

Does anyone know anywhere that sells wider doors or is a case that I will have to get something custom made?

The frame and brickwork around the door is being replaced/ repaired so I can make the new door frame to fit a given door.

UPVC you would be looking at a pair of doors (French Doors) for that width.

Wood, any width you want, custom made joinery.

Old farmhouse, then it has to be wood, will be expensive though.

Recommend timber for that width
As Nightglow said upvc would `probably`have to be a pair and that would make each half about 450mm +200mm??for door jambs
Although i have seen some with doors different sizes,or maybe a small side screen

Sorry, should have said, Timber, probably oak.

Looks like custom it is then. Was hoping something 'off the shelf' might be available as would be cheaper.

Oak.

Going to be expensive, very expensive, & heavy, but looked after it will last, but make sure you find a good joiner, they are around those who will also fit it.

Another option might be to build a porch in front and fit a normal sized door.

Personally I'd go with oak and find a local ironmonger to make some nice fittings for it.

There a firm close to me, 'Stuart Interiors' anything oak, they make it, they have a local blacksmith who does all the hand forged metalwork for them.

It needs to be this big as will look funny otherwise with respect to the rest of the house, as it has big wood doors throughout.

Got a good chippy/joiner that's doing a few other bits, so he will be my next port of call.
