If I was to upgrade my odyssey plus, what could I get next?
I really love the OLED screen, the visuals and the blacks make the screen something to really love but it does seem to lose tracking more than I'd like. So was having a look around with the possibility of getting something else, but there really doesn't seem to be anything else around that can be considered an upgrade except the Vive pro as this seems to have the similar panels. Is there anything else I could look at, maybe the quest as it's OLED again although the refresh rate is worse and can't product the same image quality?

Everything else on the market are same gen headsets. It would be like having an RTX 2070 Super and asking what to upgrade it to. The Vive Pro is probably older than the Odessey Plus so same gen, just a higher spec. The Valve Index is the best at the moment but you already have the Odessey though. I'd recommend the Index if your current headset was Google cardboard because that would be a huge upgrade.

Have you tried different lighting in your room etc? Gone through their support forums etc?

My advice is to persist with it and buy a next gen headset in 2 or 3 years.

I've tried remapping the room before a gaming session etc, also tried removing the photo frames off the walls, neither helped.I did try removing the usb3 extension cable and plugging straight into the pc tonight which resulted in almost perfect tracking, although it was only for and hour and a half so need to test it more.

An alternative would be to use SteamVR tracking for the controllers, though of course you'd have to buy the lighthouses and controllers separately which is expensive.

This is an option that I've heard about before, but the feedback I've heard isn't good, although I may try it even if its just to have the base stations for another headset

I'm currently building up a combination of a Vive headset, wand controllers and lighthouses to run them along side my o+ headset, this should then give me lighthouse tracking with great optics. It's a work in progress, so far I have a vive headset and 1 controller. I'll update this post with how successful it is when it's all up and running. (if I haven't sold the o+ first)
