at home, you?
currently have my 2500k @ 4.5ghz paired with my gigabyte z68ap-d3 and 12gb hyperx blu 1600mhz, temps are all good, so im thinking about pushing it some more, but being a noob at oc'ing im going to need a little help so....here we go, and i hope you will be patient with me, for the purposes of this, i have took screenshots using the gigabyte touch bios instead of burning your eyes with iphone low res pics of my bios screen, i have had this at 4.8ghz and it booted windows fine, ran ibt fine then started bsod'ing so to save me messing any more, i reverted back to my settings for 4.5ghz from memory, and all is stable, so on with the screenshots

and this my friends is where im at, 4.5ghz, from what i remember my temps got to the low 80's on ibt stress test @ 4.8, which some people wqouldnt be happy with, but that was before i got my new case fans to push some more air through, so im going to give it another try

just for reference, i am not overclocking using the touch bios, im going through the normal bios, now what i have noticed, is there are several variants of this motherboard, and there is a dedicated thread about oc'ing on this board, but it only goes to 4.5ghz, and that guide seems to have different bios options to what i have, and i have tried every bios listed for my motherboard, ideally id like to get
back to 4.8ghz, so my forum people, can you help me?
(edit) just noticed my ram has itself set to 1.54v is that running too high?

Can you run Prime 95 and show us what your temps are like with your CPU running at 100% please.

Idle temps don't really show how well your system is doing, also what CPU cooler are you using ?

yep, pretty close to it, ran it like that for a few hours, then got a bsod, uncorrectable hardware error
