Where to go from i7-2600k?

CPU usage on GTA5 everything maxed out with an i7 2600 at stock speeds (3.4ghz)

The cpu is still a powerhouse and rarely hits over 60ish percent gaming I doubt it would be causing such a bottleneck unless its thermal throttling for you

just to be clear gaming isn't too bad although it does get pretty warm with the occasional crash.

it's more struggling performance wise in the Adobe apps.

i have an 17 - 2600 (no K) and I wanted to upgrade too. The thing is, if you get a new CPU, you're going to need a new motherboard too

The older i7's still perform really well so i bought myself a Zotac AMP GTX 1070 instead (I'll upgrade my CPU later) and I'm getting great performance @ 1440p
