Just wondering where I could sell an iMac? I'm not wanting to sell yet, but I want to next summer. It's a fully speced out mid 2008 aluminium 24" imac, 1TB hard drive, 4GB ram, 3.06GHz, so I'm hoping to get at least £600 for it.

Am I allowed to sell it on the MM here? Or do you know of anywhere else I could sell it (as long as naming the place doesn't breach to competitors rules)?

Thanks guys. :)

You'll be able to sell it on the MM. Who knows how much it will be worth next summer though.

Well it will be in mint condition with another year of HE warrantee left over, but yeah, I'm expecting a hardware price crash again too.

If you use secure delivery then they'll have to sign it which the company would keep a record of.

ebay is always worse for the buyer, not the seller

Not anymore. Ebay is heavily skewed in favour of buyers now. As things currently stand once buyers have sent payment via paypal, paypal then holds those funds for up to 21 days. The seller must then post the item before he is allowed access to the funds. The funds are only released once positive feedback has been received, or 21 days have elapsed and no claimback has been received. The buyer effectively has 21 days to try out your goods with no obligation to buy.

eBay is also a bit of a git now with regard to sellers fees. 10% on your sales so if it goes for [say] £600 then you're getting stitched for £60 as the final fee. I hadn't realised they'd changed the fee structure so was a bit gutted to have to pay £30 when I flogged my iPhone.

That's not the case with everything, only certain high risk items and only with certain seller conditons (like low feedback, not a member for very long etc)

I've sold all my Mac purchases on ebay when I wanted to upgrade. I even sold a Mac Pro for £3300 on eBay

(albeit it was before the fees that Feek mentioned came in)

Use your head. Get a contact number and get them to collect whenever possible.
