Where to sell servers?

This isnt an advert before any mods interpret it as such

After a big upgrade, I've got several (probably 4 or 5) high spec DL380 G4s, which are obviously still worth a fair bit, just no use to us any more.

Is fleabay the best place to shift them? Around here? Down the local market?

Fleabay seems to have a steady turn over of ProLiants of all specs and sizes.

Try on the MM and then fleabay if you dont get what you want. Cant hurt. Ebay take a lot of money off you in fees so you can sell it a little cheaper on here as well.

I take it you are just waiting for it to be activated, you just need to enable it in your trust when you have over 250 posts.

Servers seem to go well over what they're worth on ebay.

Think its percieved value. There's a lot of places running older kit, especially HP/Compaq stuff and they're too scared to change.

Will get them on the MM first when I get access for a sensible price though

If you get any trade magazines in the office there are normally a bunch of companies specialising in buying 2nd hand IT kit - never used any so can't comment on the prices they pay etc, but have a look anyway.

In my experience they usually want it for free or for beans.

You need 500 posts and have been registered 90 days or more, then it should just appear as a forum

Isnt it 250 posts and 3 months. Go into your trust and enable it from there.
