Part of my new job entails having to wipe and rebuild laptops base units either with different or same OS mainly due to the fact that this model doesn't have an image we can use.
Thing is as I have found out to my cost its not a simple procedure especially when you come to loading drivers and other software to get the model to even recognise certain installed hardware components etc.
Lets assume I know nothing with regards to chipsets and architecture and what is needed to get everything working for say a Windows 7 laptop can someone recommend or provide advice as to a good resource or a way I can start to pick this information up.. there are other technicians who work with me but I would prefer to make some effort in at least understanding if not being able to fully implement the way in which you reinstall I.e. get the specific drivers and understand if say a laptop needs net framework version xx installing before it will recognise certain hardware of chipsets and in what order you install the drivers.
