Staly-Vegas!!!
Thinking of taking the Mrs to prague in mid february for a couple of days.

Where would be a good place to stay - we are not really into clubbing / noisy bars, but do like to be out and about.

Also like to be in a location where we can get to most of th the sights (Picture opportunities).

And lastly, who to book with.

thanks in advance

Hotel Josef looks good. £490 for three nights 2 people through expedia - is this a good price?

If that includes flights then it is ok , not stunning but reasonable

includes flights from manchester - which adds about £60-70 onto the price.

ive just come back from Prague (spent a few days there) very nice.

stayed at the Ma Maison Belgicka hotel (4 star) in a quiet area.

http://www.mamaison.com/

You get a nice small apartment (fridge, freezer, microwave, toaster etc) large bed etc. facilities include private indoor warm swimming pool (which is offsite but is completely free and takes about 3 minutes to walk to) exercise equipment room and snooker table. Nice modern decor. The hotel is within walking distance of the town (10 minutes) and is 3 minutes from the nearest metro/underground station (Namesti something lol cant remember)

Picture Opportunties:
The Vsehrad fortress has excellent views of the city.
Recommend you visit Tthe old town and jewish quarter also.
I didnt get a chance to visit the palace though.

Very nice buildings in Prague, large open streets. However watch out for the cars they dont seem to pay attention to the stop lights!!

Most people will speak some English so no worries there. A lot of things are quite cheap compared to the UK as well. I went through Expedia and it was a bit more expensive than it would be if you booked hotel and flights separately.

I wouldnt book with British Airways at the moment though because of the possible strike action upcoming.

enjoy.

Well - i ended up booking the K+K Central fot three noights . Flying out on the morning of Valentines Day.

Need to find somewhere to treat the Mrs to a Valentines Dinner.

Thanks for all the help and suggestions.

Good choice, I stayed at the K+K Fenix (near the museum) in the summer which I wouldn't hesitate to recommend as it was absolutely spotless and the service was excellent overall.

The Fenix is just off Wenceslas square so it's a bit lively at night but the Central is in a quieter area so it should be perfect for the two of you

Went in October with my gf, we stayed in Andels Hotel, very nice place. We even got upgraded to a premier suite for free :D.

The trams run just outside and it's very easy to get to the Charles Bridge etc.
