where would i get my own email thing.?

Yeah, unfortunately you need the domain and I'm pretty sure kenny.com or co.uk would cost a fair bit to get now.

Alternatively you could ask if they'd host that email address for you, but I'd say there's a 99.9% chance they won't :p

I use 123-reg.co.uk, found them to be very efficient. .co.uk domains cost about £3 per year, then use Google Apps to host your e-mail. As others have said, you're a bit late for one name domains though...

I've not checked, but I just imagined someone rushing off to register it then offering to sell it on to you for a marked up price ;)

just checked...

kenny.uk.com available
kenny.uk.net available

these are the only suffixes left for the domain kenny

Can you explain how this works exactly?

My parents need a new email address because they've been using their old ISP's email which is about to expire.

I've gone to 123-reg.co.uk and chosen a domain. I go to checkout and it asks if I want to choose extras. One of those extras is "Add email from £0.75 a month"?
Do I need to choose that extra to use email on that domain?

No, all you buy from them is the domain. Then set up a Google Apps account, go back to 123-reg and change the MX records to point to Google. Plenty of people on here have done it, easy peasy.

That's if you want 123reg to manage the email for you. Google apps is free, so would use that personally.

You don't need any extra's, all you need is the standard email forwarding, This is free on all 123-reg domains

What you then do, from their control panel is set up e-mail forwarding,

For example,.

"[email protected]" forwards to "[email protected]"
you can set up as many e-mail forwards as you like, or just tell it to forward everything to a single e-mail adress..

You could forward the e-mail to google etc, but quite frankly, if their ISP has e-mail (and lets face it, it will do), then you just forward to that.
