Where would you go to find a cheap computer desk?

I really need to replace the desk I have. It's got an annoying construction arcing over the top of it, which houses my puny monitor nicely but gives me no room to upgrade - I doubt I could fit anything bigger than 17" in there. Problem is, I need the shelves on this thing for my assorted crap, as I'm sure you'll understand. So I need a desk big enough to hold my excess, without blocking off my monitor. Where would I go?

Argos offer some reasonable desks. I bought one with a set of built in shelves on the side, and a hutch which accommodates my 24" monitor. Cost me £100 a few years ago. Similar units go for ~£110 now. Still a good price.

Make one. It will fit better, give you toned more space, better built...etc!

Just slap some table tops + legs together from ikea + a bit of customizing and job done.

Problem solved. Turns out the skip is the best place. I got a 1.5M length of solid oak work top, I can fix it to my corner on 2 sides and put a leg on the fourth corner. This kinda material's about £100/M new, it just needs a sand and varnish. Net cost: about a fiver.
