wheres MCE on ocuk ???

ive just done a quick look and i cant seem to find that ocuk stock MCE .

is this true ?? seems very odd.

I was looking for this too, i think they've stopped selling it since vista came along. Shame if they have, not all of us have mega power PCs to run Vista on

Surely MCE for Vista will run just as well as the XP one did?

maybe..........but i dont want the hassle of all the incompatabilty problems that vistsa brings with it

mce works fine with nvidia cards ......vista doesn't

so anyone from ocuk what to give an explanation ?? please

or does someone have a copy going spare

It's a free HTPC front end. Superior to MCE HTPC front end IMO.

ok i downloaded it. and i it plays my hd trailersfine . cant play quicktime movie troops tho . also it shows mymusic listed in itunes but i cant play any songs .

and.........how can i download my dvds to hard-drive to save me wading through disks ??

any help would be appreciated :cool:

Uninstall Quicktime.
Install Quicktime alternative.

What format are your music files?

yeah....worked the quicktime one out 5 minutes after i posted lol.

format ??? all my stuff is stored as AIFF but i cant see the songs in my itune folder.

hmm not too sure how you get mac playback support in Media Portal, perhaps a AIFF direct show filter? I had to install direct show filter to get general ogg/flac playback in WMP.

ok ..........i changed my importing option to apple lossless . it now shows the songs ive the new cd ive imported but it wont play it ..

Thats because they are in Apples format that no-one else is allowed the use. As far as I know the only way to get them to work in anything but Itunes is to burn them to CD and rip them as MP3's or WMA files.

imported them as standard mp3 @192 and works fine now

but why doesn't it supprt aiff ?

Thats because they are in Apples format that no-one else is allowed the use.

Blame apple for having a close audio codec. I would suggest you move over to flac. Install EAC, FLAC 1.1.4. You need to configure EAC

I just upgraded from MCE to Vista and my nvidia card works fine... :confused:
