Wheres Mic boost setting?

im looking for microphone boost setting so I can turn it on? anyone know where it is? Cheers

start ->
control panel ->
sounds and audio devices ->
voice tab ->
voice recording - advanced button ->
options - advanced controls ->
advanced button under microphone ->
check boost box

i see where you mean but it wont let me go onto advanced controls, the writing is gray and i cant click on it =[ and advice/suggestions? my mic works, very quiet and cant ajust the volume on normal tab, let alone boost it.

Find the Windows Volume control. It should be in the task bar.
Run sndvol32 if it's not.

Click Options then click Advanced Controls (if it's there).
This should put an "Advanced" button below the Mic slider*.
Click that "Advanced" button and see if the option to enable Mic boost is there.

Failing that, use the volume control that comes with you sound card and try reading it's help file.

* No Mic slider ? ? ?
Click Options>Properties. Make sure there is a tick next to Mic in the list you see.
