How can you accidentally delete a thread?
You should easily be able to restore it in vBulletin. You'd have to delete it in like three places before it was permanantly gone.

surely a place like OcUK would have a backup of the whole system, and a backup of that too, and maybe one more just for luck
The problem there is that to restore a thread in this manner would mean rolling back the whole database, so anything posted since the thread was deleted would be lost. But this wouldn't be necessary to restore a thread which was deleted by a mod anyway, it should be simple enough for admins to undo the delete.
So it almost certainly wasn't an 'accident'.
