Which 1080 to buy?

Gigabyte gaming guy - could you confirm whether or not the 1080 G1 gaming is using a custom or reference PCB (Looks reference).

Thanks in advance

Yes, that's the current policy. But getting a copy of a proof of purchase when you buy a second hand card shouldn't be a problem.

Correct. If I would have known this I would have included proof of purchase along with the many GB items I have sold on the bay in the past.

I have PoP for pretty much everything I have bought in the past 6 years in my email should the need of making a european consumer law claim arise ;)

Don't forget EVGA warranty officially covers the removal of the heat sink when you fit a block, a big plus for me and other owners. Most are void when you remove the heat sink.

Not anymore. Gigabyte, MSI, KFA2, Sapphire, Galax, etc are also totally fine with removing the stock cooler. Some also are "officially" against it but as long as you return the card back with the stock cooler attached, they will be fine.
