im going for the best graphics and processor so I'm just making sure that it then has the right amount of hard drive and cooler and motherboard to go with them.I need this for gaming and video edittingFinally what is 'turbo'? Is that like overclocking? Is it optional? Should I overclock? I want a long lasting pc.

Here is an overclocked alternative.

Please no lectures on how its more cost effective to build it myself.

Or are there any similar priced bundles that give better results?

Do you need an OS? Peripherals? Monitor?

What kind of games do you play? At what resolution?

The 'turbo' speed is the speed your CPU will boost to beyond stock speeds when it can/needs to. Essentially it gives a small overclock when your system needs it. Manual overclocking raises the base speed; by raising voltages you can overclock to higher speeds than the CPU can reach via its turbo function.

To overclock you need a K-series processor (e.g. 4770k), which the first system you linked does not have.

The Titan Envy M comes to over £1700 with an SSD and OS. Here's an overclocked alternative, similarly-priced to the Geforce Ultimate:

YOUR BASKET
1 x "Titan Tanto" Intel Core i5 4670K @ 4.2GHz Overclocked Nvidia GeForce Gaming PC £283.00

(you can ask customer service to change the colour of the case)

I'd go with that one. It's overclocked, you get an aftermarket CPU cooler, a gold-rated PSU, and a non-reference 780ti.

do I definately benefit from overclocking? Wont that decrease my pc life? Does this bundle come with an adequete cooler? Finally, is it permanently overclocked or can it be switched on and off?

and thanks btw I appreciate this, hoping to order before the end of today

OcUK will build this for you, don't worry ;)

Overclocking can decrease the life of your CPU if you go overboard with voltage or don't have adequate cooling. 4.2ghz isn't much, though, and the cooler that comes with the Tanto is perfectly adequate. It will last you for as long as you want it.

Differences:

--Size: the ones you linked are mATX, the Tanto is ATX (ATX is bigger).

--Overclock: the one you linked is not overclocked and cannot be overclocked, the Tanto is overclocked to 4.2ghz. 4.2ghz isn't a huge overclock, but from experience I can say that I notice the difference in terms of system responsiveness between my 4.6ghz overclock and my 4770k at stock speeds.

--CPU cooler: the Geforce Ultimate comes with Intel's stock CPU cooler. It is functional enough, but a bit loud. The Titan Envy comes with an h100i - an excellent cooler but it pushes the price up and is totally overkill for a 4.2ghz overclock. The Tanto comes with a pretty basic air cooler, but one that will be quieter than the stock cooler and capable of handling the overclock.

--GPU: the ones you linked will come with the reference 780ti. The Tanto comes with a Gainward's 780ti Phantom, which is overclocked for you and has a better and quieter cooler.

--PSU: the Geforce Ultimate's PSU is described as 'Premium 80 Plus'. I have no idea which brand it is. The Tanto's is a Superflower gold-rated PSU, which will be more efficient and higher quality.

The SSD, HDD, RAM, and OS are all the same.

Thankyou so much, I have such a poor grasp of these things

is the overclock permanent or can it be turned on and off at startup?

Usually the overclock will be saved on a particular motherboard (BIOS) profile, you can just restart the computer, use the BIOS to revert back to stock and you'll be back to standard. At least that's how I've always done them.

The overclock is presumably saved to a profile in the BIOS (if it isn't, you can do this very easily). To revert to stock speeds you can just select 'reset of default'. To get the overclock back you load the profile the settings were saved to.

If you run into problems and have to flash the BIOS or reset it, you will lose the overclock profile - so either write the settings down or save it to a USB stick.
