Hi,

I'm looking to buy a 17"-18" laptop for under a grand. What would you recommend?

Needs:

1080p
Blu-ray
Decent GFX card.

Is this good (no idea)?

I have got a Dell XPS L702x 17.3 3d Screen 1THDD 6GB memory Intel i7 cpu with Blu Ray Burner/dvd-rw its a lovely Laptop ! saved loads buying it off the Auction site brand new cost be £849.00 ;)

Mine just cost me over £1050

yeah i don,t play many games but saw the price and watch blu ray films and thought go for it ! got a built in emitter to so easy to watch 3d films with Nvidia glasses ;) yours sounds a nice set up to ,and i was looking at that spec too it was just the price that swade me but the XPS Laptops are lovely models :)

The (1920x1080) is outstanding display best ive seen on a laptop :D

I have almost the same specification as yours. Mine has the 2630QM CPU and the Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6230 wireless card but everything else is the same. I've also swapped the Dell 6GB DDR3 for 16GB Crucial DDR3 (4 x 4GB).

It's a great spec laptop especially the 120Hz screen which takes a bit of getting used to but now I really like it and playing games in 3D is growing on me too lol. :)
