at the moment i have a aging HIS x800 and want a cheap upgrade which of the 1950 series would give me the best bang for my bucks in performance and visuals

thanks

I'd say the X1950 Pro 512MB was your best bet at £87 or maybe a HD 3850 Pro 256MB at £106. You could have some of the best cards on the market for just £150-170 though, so it entirely depends on your budget, what res you game at and the rest of your system.

Depending on your overall desire for quality, I have the Asus 1950 Pro, and as with most things Asus, you can't go wrong. Reliable, and practically silent. My fanboy relationship with Asus continues...

Seriously, just pay the difference for an HD3850, its really not worth the hassle to get the 1950.

£15 more and you get double the performance.

you got to get the HD3850 card none of the other ATI cards are worth getting
they can be to noisy, power consuming, driver problems,
I was almost going to buy a 2900 but after putting up a post I was soon warned
way from it, I am saving for a 8800gt so I got to wait a bit longer its worth it.
