I'm going to have to buy a new monitor this week, it makes sense to go with something as compatible as possible with other devices.

LG Flatron W2261V 22" Widescreen LCD Monitor - This is the current first choice.

Are there any reasons I shouldn't buy this monitor instead of something else for similar money?

Primary use will be as a PC monitor for me gaming pc.

Its all about gaming. Budget is up to £200. Has to have DVI, HDMI is a nice addon but I have a 32" LCD tv for that. I have a Bose setup for sound so inbuilt speakers won't get used.

£200 max, eh?

Well this is the monitor you want. it uses a superior e-ips panel (for much better viewing angles and image quality) and it plays games very well (low response time, low input lag and no ghosting).

Here is an in-depth review, it is also worthwhile searching "2209WA" on the forums - there are quite a few happy dell customers playing games on these things (myself included).

Another vote for the 2209WA, proffessional looking, solid build quality, best panel and an easily affixed fully adjustable stand.

The above - plus read this thread if you need further convincing - link.

I personally thing the aesthetics of the 2209WA are spot on. The simple clean lines and sturdy, robust appearence really exudes quality when viewed in the flesh - so to speak.

But the most compelling/important reason for considering this monitor is the quality e-IPS screen and the fact you would be buying the best monitor in its size class for the money.
