G-SYNC is too expensive, shall I focus on Refresh Rate then?

You should be able to hit 144fps on 1080p with that setup.

So if you can get a 144Hz monitor within your budget, I'd go for that.

Never understood why people buy crappy cheap monitors or audio equipment.

Spend all that money on a 1080 and 8700 and then buy a 150 quid monitor.. really?

This. Buy £900 worth of CPU/GPU then make the most of it with a poor quality panel?

It's the thing you look at all the time you are using your expensive pc. It should be comparable to the rest of the system.

If you haven’t bought this yet, get a 1080 or 1070ti and spend the rest on a better display. Also a bigger SSD.

Monitors are pretty subjective to me, depends on your usage type. If you play a lot of fps then you naturally would want a high refresh rate monitor surely? I follow some of the pro pubg players streams and interestingly they are all using 144hz 24" 1080p TN panels without any frame sync, no fancy IPS gsync in sight... There's probably a reason for that and it won't be budget.

Lol, I was in a similar boat to you, I mainly play fps so 1080p @ 144hz with 1ms response time was what I was after. Ended up getting an LG 24GM79G

It is the 'standard'. AMD made use of the technology already there, Nvidia decided to go rogue and special, putting the monitors at almost twice the price. Ass(_o_)s

Lol, that's pretty crappy of them really, I've seen it running on my friends £700 gsync with his 1080ti monster rig... Couldn't actually tell it was doing anything other than running high fps without screen tearing. Expensive gimmick.
