Looking for a 24" up to about £170 ish. I know theres not many to choose from, but any recommendations?

The Samsung S24A350H is a very good monitor and can be had for about £154. I bought a monitor 2 weeks ago and I nearly bought this monitor, in the end I went for a Dell U2312HM.

how is the Dell U2312HM treating you? ive been interested in this monitor for a while

It's a very good monitor and I feel I made the right choice, I mainly game on my PC and I find the picture quality excellent and with great colours. I also don't see any ghosting on games I play like l4d 2, dead isand and payday.

Just throwing it out there, consider the Asus VE248H or VE247H along side the Samsung S24A350H.
Once you calibrate the screen properly, its amazing colors.

But can't go wrong with the dell :P

I too am interested in a 24" monitor and the VE248H and VE247H look appealing (after sorting the ghosting issues). Is there any great difference between these two monitors?

What are peoples preferences between the Dell, Samsung and the 2 Asus' ?

There is no ghosting issue with ones made after March 2011.
They fixed it the issue mostly.

Sure there is some very slight ghosting/blurriness if you perform a proper test with white/black background etc and very fast moving objects, but nothing that other monitors don't have already, you won't notice it in anything, only proper ghosting tests.

The difference between the VE248H and VE247H is that they have different ports(48H has better ones and more) and the 48H is 24inch and 47H is 23.6. Down to what you want, the screens are exactly the same quality wise.

The samsung screen is what I was originally going to get, I went to a local store and took a look at it, didn't like the colors too well, but they didn't allow me to change the settings, So I'm going to guess the colors are very nice, Samsung always make quality products.

And the dell is a e-IPS screen, so it has better viewing angles, richer colors, with the sacrifice of a higher response time, which like most other monitors you won't notice it unless you look for it specifically with proper tests.

I only went with the Asus because I like Asus products (my graphics card) and the base is really small so I can push to right against the wall without the screen sticking out so much.

Which is highly regarded for the quality of it, anyone in here will say its a really nice monitor. I just didn't like the base as its quite big.
