Dell Ultrasharp 2407WFP 24" Widescreen LCD Monitor - Midnight Grey

BenQ FP241WZ 24" Widescreen HDMI/HDCP LCD HD Monitor - Black

Samsung SM-244T 24" Widescreen LCD Monitor - Silver (

Which one? And reasons please. Thanks.

The dell is excellent value for money and don't quote me on this but I think they all use the same panel anyway so just get the cheapest one, plus the dell is a bargain at the moment!

I have the samsung 244t. No complaints whatsoever. Love it immensely :D
+ when I was looking for a 24", I think all the reviews I found rated the samsung over the dell.

I have the BenQ and its god damn pro. Im a hardcore gamer (go to lan partys) and its response time is perfect. Iv had two dell 2405 and there response time was dire. Plus it supports HD.

But if your not interested in the HD and are willing to take ppls word on the dells 2407 response time and risk wanting to send it back. Then get the dell its cheaper.

ps I think thats fair.

244T is being replaced by the 245T.

Another vote for for the Dell here, I looked at these 24"ers for ages before making my choice. Dell got the vote in the end. The Samsung & Benq are exspensive, The Samsung uses the same panel and has had some reported input lag.

The Benq's build quality looks a little flimsy, although I may well be wrong. Personally I don't like silver plastic as it can look cheap. Too much emphasis on its HDMI input, which I doubt I would even use.

The Dell is a bargain, mine is an 03 revision and there is no banding etc. Good build quality and plenty of inputs usb, card reader, etc.

When is the Z version of BenQ and Samsung's 245T coming out in UK?

Z should be out by March. 245T is being launched in America in March, hopefully they will launch in Europe at the same time. Cant see them delaying too long cause they need to compete with the likes of Dell, Benq etc. But theres v little info on this Monitor apart from the press release.

Also LG are bringing out a 24" S-IPS L246WP http://us.lge.com/products/model/de...monitors_windows vista certified_L246WP.jhtml

Looks like we will have a lot more choice in a couple of Months.

Have you noticed any input lag on your BenQ?

Shall wait till March then.

Ya Im getting frustrated with all the waiting but its going to be worth it I think.

All the big name Screens will be out and will be able to make an informed choice. Roll on March ............ can have spring clean and finally throw away that CRT.

I've always had a CRT monitor and I haven't really seen any decent LCD's in action tbh. I also want a 24" monitor and my mate has just bought the BenQ fp241W. I'm gonna go check it out this week hopefully. If I do go for that one it'll be the Z version which should be out in March. Although, by then all these others will be out as well. I've spent hours checking various forums and reviews, and I'm more unsure about what and when to buy than before I started....

Well I've spent all night racking my brains trying to decide which to get, I've now just this minute orderd the Dell 2407, I just hope I've made the right choice, I'm feeling really doubtfull about this screen :( , well it should be hear tomorrow so I'll post up my thoughts on it then.

So lowrider007, what are your thoughts on the screen? Looking to buy one myself.

well i purchased the Dell last week.

You could wait for a life time for these new updated panels and when there out there will be more updated panels coming out, so save yourself a fortune and get the dell.
It truly is a lovely monitor and i am so glad i purchased it.

Fantastic, 24" is just the right size, as people might know on here i'm very fussy about input lag (I do rant about it a lot) but tbh it's practicly non-existant on the Dell 2407, out the box it was very bright and using the DVI you don't have a contrast setting so you may have to tweak the image through the nvidia/ati control panel, took me a few minutes playing around but once setup it was perfect, apperently there is an ao4 revision coming out shortly that supports 1:1 pixel mapping so you may want to hang on for that, I don't need 1:1 pixel mapping but I'm still gonna wait until they are out before purchasing another one as it will help keep the resale value up a little.
