Any ideas on which of these looks like the better monitor (I can get them both at the same price)?

Omen by HP 32 inch Gaming Monitor
ACER EB321HQUAwidp Quad HD 31.5"

I don't really do much gaming it's more for the size/quality for videos and just general usage.

Or, are there any other better options at that size for around £300?

Thanks

I would remove the links to other suppliers as well as this is not allowed on this forum.

I have just purchase ACER EB321HQUAwidp Quad HD 31.5" IPS LED Monitor 60 Hz Refresh Rate at £300. I also upgrade the warranty from 2 to 5 years at Acer. My plan is to use this monitor as a stop gap for desktop work and some games as I am waiting for the new 4K, HDR, Higher refresh rate panels that are coming out next year.

I do not know if the ACER EB321HQUAwidp supports HDCP, this maybe important to you.

I happy with it good colours no dead pixels but you will get some IPS light bleed and glow which you can see in a dark room. This could be a issue to you if you like to sit in a dark room and watch videos. You maybe able to solve this issue is trying to find a unit with minimum light bleed.

My panel will do resolution of 2880x1620 as well as 2560x1440. You also get 3 input ports; 1x Dual DVI @60Hz, 1x 2.0 HDMI @ 50Hz, 1x DisplayPort 1.2 @60Hz

The Omen by HP 32 inch Gaming Monitor with AMD FreeSync 2560 x 1440 Pixel Quad HD (QHD) 5 ms 75 Hz Refresh Rate, 2 HDMI (with HDCP support), 1 DisplayPort 1.2 (with HDCP support) and 3 USB 3.0. The WVA+ panel gives better contrast ratios and good black depth than IPS panels, but colours may not be as good.

On paper Omen by HP 32 inch is better as it has AMD FreeSync with higher Refresh Rate and confirmed HDCP support, more inputs, better black depth which some people like, but colours may not be so good as IPS panel.

You may need to use scaling as well on the desktop, depends how good your eyes are.

You need to see then in action if you can.

Thanks for your reply, links have been removed.

I think I'm leaning towards the HP one from reading a few reviews but yes I'll try to see if I can find them anywhere to see them in the flesh.

No problem, one thing is that both monitors have a fixed height stand so you may need to think about VESA mounting options or using a monitor stand.

What size monitor are you using now?

Fixed height is fine, I use a riser stand built into my desk which makes it the right height.

I use a 27" and a 24" at the moment, this new one will go in between the others and I'll go to having 3.

You must have a big desk to stand all three monitors, most people see my single 32" monitor and say how big it looks :)

I would also check up on the spec on the two HDMI ports on the HP could be 1.4 and not 2.0.
