I'm looking at replacing ageing 24" Dell 2408WFP (1920x1200). When I turn it on it displays several narrow vertical lines on the right hand side which disppear after about 5 minutes.

I was looking at purchasing a 27" LED 2560x1440 next for internet browsing, watching Blurays, DVDs and Microsoft Office only. Never owning an LED monitor before I would appreciate some help deciding which one to choose, I have a £500 budget.

After watching a couple of 4K displays, I was sold. Since you mentioned Office you could even take advantage of the increased workspace. There are some really good articles on PCM2's site but to be honest the best bet is to somehow look at them real life. Your budget will allow you to buy something really awesome.

Thank you for the feedback, having now looked on youtube and other users feedback on the net I have decided to go for the Dell U2715H. My Dell 24" is around 4-5 years old now and has served me well. My only concern with the IPS screen appears to be colour bleed around edges, as this seems to be the norm with IPS screens I am prepared to accept this.

Ok that got deleted because I mentioned the price.

I'll reiterate my point though and say that I think the 25" version is far better value for money, and you should be able to get 2 of them for your budget, compared to just 1 of the 27's

The 25" are also 1440p using an IPS panel.
