I was looking at getting a 290 for my system but it appears that that plan is out the window due to funds so I'm looking for recommendations on what would be the best 280X to go for? I'd be looking to crossfire them at some point down the line, and am hoping to be future-proofed for a good few years from now.

I'll be looking to run the games at the highest settings (Metro: Last Light, BF4, AC4, Titanfall, Watchdogs etc) at 1920x1080 with the potential to go up to 1920x1200.

Cheers! :D

ASUS Direct CUII TOP on this week only are very good! Bargain too and great cooling solution (hybrid fan and thermal heat pipe assembly) mine both run at 1150 core and 1650MHz GRAM (6600MHz effective) all at stock volts, max temps after an hour or so of BF4, top card is around high 70s at these clock speeds. Fans are pretty in-audible at the 60% profile I run them at. 2 of these bad boys will equal the cost of a 780Ti, with around a 40% performance increase. Got to be the red corner now for VGA! ;)

As above.
The ASUS cards are the best IMHO in terms of performance, temps, volume.
I used mine with the stock cooler for a while and in Xfire the top card got a little toasty which is to be expected on any air cooled cards

Performance in Xfire on these cards is insane!
Can't remember exactly (so could be making this up) but I seem to remember I was getting 140+ fps in battlefield 4 on ultra settings
Should have my cards back in the rig tomorrow so I will update this with them at stock settings
Been out of action for weeks now! :(

What are people's views on the Gigabyte Windforce? There's another post with some bad experiences, but I'd appreciate anyone else's views.
