Which 290?

Well they are all 290s, none of them are "unlocked" to a 290x however, so arguably all the same card, the Asus has a slight unlock i think for memory? all the cards are manufactured by Sapphire in actual fact, just rebadged for each vendor.

Sapphire just released a bios update for theirs, not sure how much of an improvement it is, but i believe it helps a bit, plus the Sapphire was £300 today with BF4 + 2 games, no other deal for a 290 currently comes close to that imo.
 
If you take the heatsink off to put a block or after market cooling solution, then go MSI or Sapphire, as warranty covers this. If not go for one of the brands that might unlock to a 290x and flash the Asus bios to unlock it, so you also get it voltage unlocked.
