I wonna upgrade my current rig to 2gb so I can stick my 1gb ocz stuff in another comp.

Just not sure which way to go though, my cpu is clocked at 2.5ghz (250 x 10) so I was thinking going with some pc4000 so I could run 1:1 with timings of like 3-4-4-8 but was just wondering if it would be better getting some pc3200 and run it on a divider and have tighter timings?

So basicly just wonna know if higher fsb with slack timings or lower fsb (divider) with tighter timings, which one would be better?

Ta CaNNoN :D

Yer was looking at some g.skill stuff, they have some pc4000 and some pc3200 for around the £150 mark, still unsure if higher fsb or tight timings would be better?

So prob best to go with the g.skill ZX stuff rather than the HZ and run the mem on a divider with the tight timings.

Will that give me any increase at all looking at my current setup in my sig?

It depends on your resolution and detail level. To find your own memory usage, play CSS for a bit, hit CTRL+ALT+DEL goto to performance and check the value in the commit charge box. If the peak value is over 1046960 ish, then you're using up your gig of RAM and paging.
I run it at 1280x1024 (lcd Setting), everything on high but with HDR off as it kills my fps, I have the logitech G-15 keyboard too (has a mem/cpu usage display), my ram usually get to around 95-98% cpu is always 100%. But with the newer games coming out, 2Gb is always gonna help in the long run isnt it.

Just ordered the ZX kit, read the post by scoobie dave, all very interesting stuff, so long as i can keep my cpu mhz high as poss and find some nice tight mem timings it wont really matter about the mem mhz.

check out the new stuff in my sig.... 208mhz 1t @ 2.3.2.5

I still have my 250x10 cpu clock and have the mem running on the 166 divider, gonna start stressing and benching now.

(old stuff was 1GB ocz4000 gold ed rev2 @ 250mhz 1t @ 2.5-3-3-8)
