Which £300 bridge camera?

A colleague has asked for advice on the above, but I've no idea as I'm only interested in DSLRs.

Can anyone shed any light on what's good at the moment?

Thanks for your replies. I suggested off the top of my head that he might want to consider Fuji and Panasonic - I'll get back to him with those model numbers.

I got the impression from him that he wanted something compact, so I don't think he'll be interested in SLRs.
