Hi guys upgrading to a 3900x

Can someone recommend me an X570 motherboard around £150 mark
and 32GB ram (2x16GB) please, around £150 mark again.

Thanks.

unless you absolutely need an X570 board the B550 at around the £150 price point generally offer better features and VRMs.

If you can't do without X570 though then your best off stepping up an extra 50 quid and going for something like the X570 tomahawk.

Hi I needed the bandwidth for storage ~100TB so didnt want any sata ports disabled.
I.e. 2 NVME drives + 6 sata ports - can B550 cope with that? I wasn't sure as my tech knowledge out of date and dont understand this lanes business.

Thanks.

Depends on manufacturer from what i've read on msi boards you lose some pcie slots but still have your sata ports, i think most of the others lose sata if a second m.2 is installed

If you have money for that much storage, proper X570 board shouldn't be too expensive.

Both are capable to mostly passive chipset cooling.
Aorus Elite has one PCIe x4 and two x1 slots free even if graphics card takes three slots.
In Tomahawk three slot GPU blocks one x1 slot.

Don't really consider 8 ports enough for such amounts of storage.
While RAID is no substitute for backups, would certainly want some redundancy meaning need for extra drives.
