What are the best options here for gaming? I have a 30” but would like to go up to maybe 34”. FreeSync, 1440p, possibly curved (‘cos it looks great).

No real budget, I could go to 1k if it’s really worth it but not sure I would notice the difference over a £500 monitor, I don’t seem to notice the tiny differences some people do.

What are the best options, must be:

FreeSync
1440p
Curved - if it’s good for gaming?
I like my 144Hz currently, basically whatever is best for gaming?
Thanks.

32 not worth it ?
Sammy have some new ones,144 @1440 heres tft's take on it http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/samsung_c32hg70.htm

I don't know, I haven't seen many 32's, the 34's look great but I've never actually tried one yet. I don't think the extra 2" would make much difference.

34" is typically Ultra wide?
32" is 16:9

Depends if OP wants UW or 16:9

Yes I read that the UW can make some games more immersive, that sounds good. Need to read more reviews of them, just trying to see which are the top few to pick from.

Maybe hold until March?

- 34" Ultrawide Curved, Nano IPS, 3440x1440, Freesync, 144Hz, HDR, DCI-P3 98%
- 32" 2560x1440 IPS, Freesync, 1ms 144Hz, HDR
- 27" 1920x1080 TN, Freesync, 1ms 240Hz

That's the LG freesync lineup for March time.

Cool , I'll check the reviews of that one. Cheers.

Wow that monitor sounds brilliant, seems to be the only one that ticks all my boxes. Thinking of ordering - has anyone got it already?

Well I caved and got one :o

Have to say it is a nice monitor, daft as it sounds takes a bit of getting used to a curved monitor.

Compared to my asus pb278q its not quite as good but damn close. Gaming wize it's awesome! :D

Well, this monitor you suggested:

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/sams...-hdr-widescreen-curved-monitor-mo-236-sa.html

was the one that ticked all my boxes. Arrived yesterday, at first I was a bit put off by the smearing in a youtube video. Then I loaded up a game – Battlefront 2. Holy ****! This monitor looks awesome! The colours are clearly more vivid than my old TN panel (the excellent BenQ 2730). The colours are jaw-dropping. It was hard to play the game at first cos I was just wandering around staring at the gorgeous scenery in awe. Thanks a million for the suggestion, this monitor is sensational, can’t wait to get back to it. Now I can see why people rave about curved monitors for gaming – it really is more immersive, it is class. Happy days.

Good choice, that's a nice monitor.

You will see smearing in certain scenarios with VA panels though.

Doesn't bother me too much on mine to be honest.
