Which 3D card would be max for this system?

What would be the max powered GFX i could install into this old system without the machines speed becoming a bottleneck?

Mainboard supports PCI-Express X16
CPU 1.86Ghz Core2duo
MEM 2GB DDR2 533 (2gb max supported)

I have a similar system (if not a bit worse) with an 8400 on it. I only bought it because it was so cheap, but something like that would be good. Of course, having a great GPU with a not very good CPU is better than the other way round, so i suppose the big question really is... budget?

I was thinking about the 4850 or 4870. The psu will have to be repladed, its standard basic rubbish
