Hi All,

Could use a reccomendation on upgrading my graphics card. Currently I'm running a Q6600 @ 3.2ghz, 4GB of RAM, and an 8800GTX on a abit IP35 Pro motherboard (so pci-e 1). I have a budget of around about the £200 mark (though I could be persuaded to go a bit higher if it is really worth it) and obviously if I dont need to spend that much thats even better.

The cards I'm considering at the minute are the following.

I'm not hugely in to doing my own overclocking and I think I would prefer the amp just because its the fastest out of the box and I would be quite happy leaving it at those settings. Does it run as cool and quiet as the other two cards?

As I undersatand it these cards are also only about 9.5 inches long compared to the 10.5 of my 8800 and I still have about an inch spare with that so I cant see the size of any of them being a problem.

I should probably add I'm not really considering ATI either as I am one of those odd balls who enjoys having physx.

I do tend to play the latest games and enjoy maxing out my quality settings (games I play include Dirt 2, L4D2, Fallout New Vegas (soon), Modern Warfare 2, etc etc). I should probably also mention that I game at 1920*1200.

Thanks in advance.

Without trying to drag this thread down like the other 768 vs 1024 mb debate I would prefer to go for a 1024mb card. I tend to be in agremeent that 768mb isnt enough for 1920*1200 and 4*AA. I would also like to up my texture qualities to the highest in GTA4 and 768mb isnt enouh for me to do that.

So thanks for the suggestion but I really do want to stick to the 1GB cards.

Out of those 3 I would go for the Gigabyte as it is cheaper but will still clock very nicely. Judging by the many reviews on here and other sites pretty much all 460's will get to a similar OC unless you are very unlucky with your card.

I would go for the HAWK but then i am baised. I saw precisely a doubling of the power from my 8800GTX to my HAWK

If you check the HAWK thread (page 5 i think) you will see my photos with some bench marks.
